William Carslake is a young professional conductor. He brings enthusiastic leadership to the orchestra together with many ideas for different playing opportunities.

William studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama where he was winner of the Hugh Robertson Conducting Prize.

He founded the Pembroke Academy of Music in South London which provides subsidised tuition for disadvantaged children. He conducts extensively with a number of orchestras in the south-east as well as being Artistic Director of the London Charity Orchestra , and Assistant Conductor of the Ernest Read Symphony Orchestra.. He is a regular cover conductor for Royal Ballet productions and is involved in a number of music education programmes, including those run by Opera North and Glyndebourne.
